In a recent paper by author A.P. Yuran Jin, the innovation and entrepreneurship education reform in the business administration major of University of Science and Technology Liaoning as a case was studied. The reform covers 4 aspects: training program, curriculum system, teaching resources and teacher team.
“Innovation and entrepreneurship education in colleges have matured in some developed countries. In particular, the history of innovation and entrepreneurship education in the United States has been more than 50 years. In recent years, China's economy has achieved rapid growth, which provides an unprecedented opportunity for college students to start a business. In this background, a lot of majors from universities in China have begun to carry out innovation and entrepreneurship education reform”, Yuran Jin said. The business administration major of University of Science and Technology Liaoning has earlier begun to integrate the innovation and entrepreneurship education into the major education in China and has made a series of encouraging reform achievements, so he thinks it fits to be the representative case in this study
In the paper, Yuran Jin analyzes the successful experience of the reform from business administration major of University of Science and Technology Liaoning. It includes 23 measures, such as the updated training program, new training concept and teaching mode, new practice system, creating entrepreneurial platform and club, new course framework and course system, implementation of credits alternative plan, using U type classroom, developing new teaching resources and practice bases, cultivating a number of expert teachers, setting up an omnibus teaching staff and so on.
Yuran Jin goes on to suggest that “some traditional management systems and processes should be optimized and innovated to support the reform, the corresponding incentive mechanism and safeguard measures should be established to inspire the enthusiasm and motivation of front line teachers, the specialty characteristics also should be constructed to embody the advantage of differentiation, and the most important is to screen for the students suitable for entrepreneurship scientifically and reasonably.”
The experience of innovation and entrepreneurship education reform from the business administration major of University of Science and Technology Liaoning written in this paper may not fit all kinds of the related majors, but they can get beneficial reference so as to improve teaching quality and guide more students to succeed in business.
