An autonomous sensory system is a machinery set that is qualified to perform its task without being connected to a central management unit. The special issue invites the original research and review papers from scientists, professors, and research scholars included in all areas of sensor systems to publish high quality research papers. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: • Novel architectures for autonomous sensors • Underwater and underground sensory systems • Body sensory devices • Electrochemical, electrical, and gas sensors • Sensory controlling systems • Innovative intelligence in sensor systems • Cooperative and clustering sensory systems • Nano sensory systems • Cross-layer architectures in sensory systems • Hardware and software platforms of sensor systems • Applications of sensor systems: traffic control, target tracking, health monitoring • Distributed autonomous localization techniques • Smart techniques for self-configuration, maintenance, stabilization • Real-time intelligent systems • Lifetime of wireless sensors and actuators • Autonomous routing techniques for sensory devices
