About This Special Issue
Many researchers search for alternative materials to be used as an asphalt mixture modifier to improve its properties. This research provides a laboratory assessment study use crumb rubber as hot-mixed asphalt (HMA) efficiency additives is observed that crumb rubber was recognized as an elastic action multiplier in HMA of the rubber pieces, in particular, to reduce rutting opportunities. Fine crumb rubber Shred (2.36-0.85 mm) acquired by the ambient-temperature milling method from abandoned truck wheels was used in these studies to alter asphalt performance. The perfect crumb of rubber with various components, i.e. 2.5 %, 5 %, 7.5 %, and 10 %, was inserted into the mixer at different temperatures using a dry process system. The characteristics of Marshal, Unconfined Compressive Strength (UCS), Indirect Tensile Strength Test (ITS) and Indirect Tensile Strength Modulus (ITSM) were performed. The outcome indicates that with the growing crumb rubber modifier, warden strength, Marshal Quotient, Voids in Mix (VIM) and Voids in mineral aggregate (VMA) declined. However, when crumb rubber modifiers were activated, Marshal Flow and Void lined with pavement (VFWA) improved. The consequence of crumb rubber asphalt mixture has increased crumb rubber content in asphalt concrete mixture would decrease the stability of Marshall and permeability tests show that asphalt concrete without crumb rubber is lower than AC with crumb rubber strength compared to other mixtures.
Aims and Scope:
  1. Asphalt Concrete
  2. Crumb Rubber Modifier
  3. Marshall
  4. UCS
  5. ITS, ITSM
  6. Permeability Test
