About This Special Issue
Today’s Biotechnology is an interdisciplinary field that has expanded beyond its core to areas as diverse as Biopharming (Medical/Clinical/Pharmaceutical biotechnology), Industrial, Environmental, Agricultural applications and Nanotechnology. This peer-reviewed special issue is dedicated to publication of original research articles examining the fundamental properties of biomaterials, their characterisation and processing techniques, modeling, standardization of test methods. A particular focus is the novel technologies implemented in biotechnology and for end use requirements of biomaterials.
This special issue is a showcase for innovative researches in biotechnology and therefore calls for papers in these main topics including but are not limited to the following fields:
  1. Emerging fields of Biomaterials (Bioceramics/Biopolymers/Bioglasses)
  2. 3D printing technologies and their applications in Biomaterials
  3. Bio-materials in medicine,
  4. Bio/hybrid composite
  5. Biosensors
  6. Biologically inspired materials,
  7. Biorecycling
  8. Bioproduct production
  9. Characterization and modelling of biomaterials: processing, structure, functionality and applicative perspectives
Within the above mentioned topics, funcitionality of examined biomaterials, novel techniques and emerging technologies will be discussed and evaluated in this special issue.
Aims and Scope:
  1. Biomaterials in Medical, Industrial, Environmental Biotechnology
  2. Bioproduct production
  3. Characterization and modelling of biomaterials: processing, structure, functionality and applicative perspectives
