01About This Special Issue
Workers’ remittance, at present, is a burning question among the policy makers, development practitioners, government authorities and researchers in the world. Because, sometimes it has been growing faster than foreign direct investment and official development assistance in the developing countries since a few past decades. In addition, it is playing a vital role in economy of developing countries in micro level through generating employment opportunity, developing socio-economic infrastructures and so on. As a result, expenditures on nutritious food, education, health and durables have increased at a significant level which reveals that the welfare level is enhancing. The severity and depth of poverty has been reduced at significant level in the developing countries. Besides, in macro level, workers’ remittance has been contributing very significantly to the economy of developing countries. It has been enhancing the foreign exchange reserve and improving balance of payment condition. Remittance has been playing a vital role in the acceleration of economic growth and reduction of poverty. Thus, it can be said that workers’ remittance is a major issue of concern.Aims and Scope:
