About This Special Issue
The ideal intervention on the built cultural heritage is associated with a series of theoretical and technical aspects; defined as intervention and maintenance criteria. However, a fundamental aspect in its conservation is related to aspects of the environment and culture that conserve or attack it. In this sense, it is important to do interdisciplinary studies to combine this knowledge and have alternatives for action.
In this sense, many buildings or groups are related to places where favorable and unfavorable conditions coexist, such as temperature, conditions such as pollution, etc. so it is necessary to study them in a territorial integral sense, and propose alternatives for intervention.
Disciplines such as architecture, urban planning and heritage conservation should be associated with knowledge related to disciplines such as chemical engineering and environmental issues. Studies that from a laboratory can analyze the environmental conditions of materials, and factors such as rain, sunlight, amount of ultraviolet rays, etc. that can analyze the effects of the degradation of cultural assets.
