About This Special Issue
Today, there is an increased interest in the usage of different types of polymers with bioactive properties for enhancing the regeneration of the damaged tissues. This may relate to the ease of extraction of some of the natural polymers, the availability of new synthesis techniques for polymers depending on the various polymerization reactions types, the ease of modification of polymers with different methods as well as the strong background based on the polymers science. Nowadays, the biofunctional polymer can be used alone, or in composite with different material for building the suitable structure which can be utilized to enhance the restoration of the damaged tissue architecture (e.g., skin, muscles, eyes, bone). This special issue aims to shed the light on the new techniques in polymers extraction and synthesis, introducing new bioactive polymers and the synthesis of new innovative polymer-based structures with acceptable properties that suite their application for activating the soft and hard tissues regeneration.

Aims and Scope:

1. Extraction of biopolymers with new techniques.
2. The growth in field of polymeric biomolecules synthesis.
3. The progress in the methods for polymers modification.
4. The development in the characterization methods for polymers.
5. Designing of new polymers-based structures with probable biomedical applications.
6. Application of different polymers-based structures in hard/ soft tissue regeneration.
7. Polymers applications in the field of tissue engineering.
