About This Special Issue
Nanomaterials or nanocrystalline materials are defined as materials with at least one dimension size is approximately 1-100 nm. Nanoparticles are object with three dimensions at nanoscale level. Nanomaterials in one dimension such as thin films and engineered surfaces have widely applied for decades. The two and three dimensions of nanomaterials such as nanowires, nanotubes and nanoparticles have tremendous optical, electronic, thermal, mechanical and magnetic characteristics with their wide applications in nanoengineering. Engineered nanoparticles can be form with different shapes, sizes and surface chemistry, which influence different material properties. Mostly high surface area to volume ration of nanoparticles is the key factor to enhance unique material properties. Nanomaterial have wide industrial applications such as display device, energy materials, nanomedicine and implantable biodevices, agriculture and food industry, sensors and actuators, aerospace components, cutting tools, hard coating, next generation computer chips and etc. This special issue will invite manuscripts conducting latest researches on nanomaterials related with nanoengineering and their different applications.
