About This Special Issue
We develop this special issue of Application of Numerical Methods in Geotechnical Engineering to highlight the critical importance of these topics for ongoing progress in geotechnical engineering. Especially focusing on theoretical and numerical aspects, including computational and analytical methods. Applications of topics such as geotechnical engineering and underground structures can by adopting constitutive modeling including elasticity, plasticity and instabilities as well as statics and dynamics of interacting structures and foundations. Accepted papers will show a diversity of new developments in these areas. This issue accepts high quality articles containing original research results and case studies in terms of studies on static and dynamic response of soils and foundation and deep excavation. And it will let the readers of this journal know more about numerical modelling methods in geotechnical engineering.
Aims and Scope:
  1. Numerical modelling of the stability of deep excavations
  2. Underground structures
  3. Interaction between soil and structures
  4. Optimization of retaining structures
  5. Constitutive modeling of soft soils
  6. Pipe-roofing method
