Introduction
Recent developments in various high-tech industries entail application of advanced materials such as composites, ceramics, titanium alloys and etc. In this regard, advanced machining processes are of particular importance for precise machining of such hard-to-machine materials. To meet the demand for accurate machining of complex shapes as well as the need to high production rates, better surface finish and lower manufacturing costs, application of advanced machining processes is inevitable. Hence, the goal of this special issue is to bring together the fundamental and practical studies performed recently on the machining of advanced engineering materials.
