Introduction
Nowadays, the era is dominated by information transmission. Optical fiber communication system has become the mainstream in the diversified information transmission system. Optical fiber communication has many unique advantages, such as large amount of carrying information, fast transmission of information, and stable transmission signal. In the optical fiber communication system, the optical fiber passive device is a key device which has a wide range of applications, powerful functions and durability. The so-called optical fiber passive device is a device that does not emit light and does not need extra energy to drive work. The common optical fiber passive devices include optical fiber connector, optical fiber coupler, optical fiber splitter, optical fiber isolator, optical filter and optical switch. It is widely used in the fields of national defense and military affairs, wired digital network, and wireless broadband communication. In particular, special optical fibers have been widely used in the field of passive devices in optical fiber communications. Using special optical fibers to fabricate optical fiber devices has the advantages of small size , easy integration, and high stability. Special optical fiber is a kind of optical fiber with special micro-nano structure and special performance, which can play different roles in optical communication system. With the rapid development of optical fiber communication technology, the requirements for ordinary optical fiber passive devices have been gradually raised. However, special optical fibers have great application prospects in the field of optical passive devices.
