About This Special Issue
There are different kinds of materials, which show different properties in different conditions. Most of metals obey the hook’s law, which is linear, in good conditions, but this behavior does not remained constant in tough conditions.

Although there is a complex coherent relation between temperature and structural loading, the combination effect is exclusive for each material type. This kind of loading cause nonlinear behavior, which is sometimes affected by time. Therefore analyzing material behavior under tough conditions needs considering different factors such as time, force, and temperature together, and the rate of variables is also important.

We consider all nonlinear behavior of materials containing time-dependent or time-independent behavior, in-phase or out of phase loading, metallic or non-metallic materials, plastic, visco-plastic or visco-elastic behavior and so on. Non-linearity can also be geometrical whereas the material is linear or nonlinear. Our interest also includes the nonlinear boundary condition such as contact analysis.

Aims and Scope:

1. Automobile industry (cylindrical head and …)
2. Power generation industry (turbine blade and ..)
3. Contact problems
4. Different theories in plasticity and visco-plasticity
5. Estimating the component life under tough condition
6. Strain life estimation under fatigue loading
7. Determining material constants under isothermal and thermo mechanical loading
