About This Special Issue
In last November, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council has issued the following document: “Some Opinions on Deepening Reform and Normative Development of Preschool Education”, one of the important suggestion is appealing the whole society try all the best to provide quality preschool education to all children, not just having a chance to enter into a daycare or kindergarten (serving for 3-6 years old children in China) . Then both the researchers and practitioners have tried to explore how to improve the quality based on previous levels. The proposed issue “Pathway to quality preschool education: Chinese perspectives” is try to conclude what Chinese people have done and what they are doing now and in the future. This conclusion might give other countries some experience to improve their preschool or early childhood education, and might boost the whole quality of early childhood education for all children in the world.
Therefore the special issue intends to focus on the experience of Chinese current preschool education both in research and practice, including policy progressing, research progressing, practice progressing, and so on. Welcome research papers from Chinese scholars, practitioners, and government workers, etc. Also welcome research papers related to current Chinese preschool education reform and efforts on quality.
