About This Special Issue
Monitoring of natural and economic potential: dynamics of production of different types of feeds. Formation of feed development strategy in Ukraine in conditions of European integration. Formation of domestic plant protein resources and their use for the development of the livestock industry. Substantiation of environmental challenges as well as feed quality and safety.
Substantiation of the expediency of acclimatization and introduction of new crops for the production of high quality feeds under climate change.
Review of experimental data on the production of new varieties of perennial legume grasses (Medicago sativa, Trifolium pretense, Onobrychis arenaria, Lotus corniculatus). Assessment of their productivity, rate of symbiotic activity, drought and winter hardiness. Characteristics of valuable farming features of new varieties of forage crops.
Influence of the organized factors (planting date, fertilizers, soil tillage systems and plant protection) on the course of growth, development and formation of highly productive agrophytocenoses. Substantiation of the models of technologies of cultivation of perennial and annual legume crops (alfalfa, faba bean, soybean, pea, lupine, etc.) with the maximum fulfilment of their production potential. Technology of cultivation of forage crops with high sowing and yielding qualities based on the agrotechnical measures adapted to global climate change in the main soil and climatic zones of industrial seed production in Ukraine. Comparative evaluation of the technologies of hay harvesting and storage to ensure feed safety and productivity.
The results of long-term studies on the ecologization of feed production on natural forage lands, models of agrophytocenoses of pasture and hay use and management of production processes of disturbed grasslands to preserve biodiversity of agroecosystems with enhancement of fodder, nature and recreational nutrition. Models of effective utilization of biological and natural-resource potential of the region.
Comparative assessment of the variability of the chemical composition of forage crops and their quality depending on the hydrothermal resources of the region and influence of the organized factors. Substantiation of the assessment of quality and safety of feeds and raw materials for the increase of the rates of digestibility and their productive effect as well as fulfillment of the genetic potential and maintenance of the health of farm animals. Description of the improvement of the methodology for determination of the chemical composition of raw materials and methods of reduction of the negative impact of toxic substances of feeds on the animal organism.
