About This Special Issue
Non-metallic pipes and fittings are very important in industrial piping, so much research is required in this field. One of the usual types of these joints is electrofusion joint. In different aspects , Investigation of these joints is affected on the quality of welding, time of welding and pipelines cost. Our special issue topics related to electrofusion joint are as follows:
- Wires effect: Number of wires; location, size and properties of wires; ratio of wire thermal conductivity to polyethylene(PE) thermal conductivity
- The volume, mass and geometrical characteristics of joint on welding quality
- PE melting and freezing process simulation
- Heating, cooling and temperature distribution in welding process simulation
- Effects of joint expansion, contraction and temperature distribution simulation
- Effects of temperature and earth different climate conditions in joint welding
- Effects of wire's electrical and mechanical properties changes in melting and freezing process
- Various methods of PE joints production and reducing fixed cost and time
- The effect of changing the applied voltage and amperage in the joints
- Investigating the effect of various non-dimensional numbers (such as Nusselt, Reynolds, Stephen) on the joints thermal behavior
- Simulation and investigation different types of joints such as: Coupler, Transducer, Saddle, Tee, Knee , …
- Two and three-dimensional simulation and investigation of above mentioned cases
All experimental, laboratory and numerical articles on this issue and articles submitted by electrofusion joint manufacturers are acceptable.
