There is no doubt that geotechnical advances greatly influence on transportation ways concluding in a better contribution to rural and urban development. This issue tries to introduce geotechnical advancements which have shown a substantial growth concerned with each and every field of transportation geotechnology which would be the ground improvement techniques, reinforcement of roads and railways foundation, trenches and embankments stabilization, subgrade consolidation and improvement of foundation layer materials.
Aims and Scope:
1. Numerical modelling of modern highway and railway substructures 2. Sustainable development of highways and railways geotechnics 3. Advances in geotechnology relevant to roads and railways 4. Development in ballasted rail tracks 5. Geotechnics of pavements, railway tracks and airfields; 6. Geomaterial, including non-traditional materials; 7. Asphalt mixtures and hydraulically-bound materials; 8. Earthworks for transportation facilities; 9. Monitoring and evaluation of road embankments and rail track substructure 10. Novel design and construction technologies for the foundations of roads and railways 11. Stabilization and reinforcement of road and railway foundations 12. Application of Geosynthetics 13.
