In this special issue, we will discuss the syndrome of postoperative pain regarding risk factors, its effect on quality of patient's life and recent trends for management. The exact etiology of chronic postoperarive pain is unknown and various theories have been proposed and there is no clear consensus on the diagnosis of this problem. Accurate assessment of postoperative pain is a key factor for successful pain management. General surgeons, head & neck surgeons and surgical oncologists will be invited to submit their works.
