Introduction
Quantum Vacuum is perhaps the most important concept in modern physics. The latest researches show it rules the deepest structure of Universe and constitutes the background from which forces and matter could arise, so representing the ultimate template of physics reality. The formulation of a complete dynamical theory of Quantum Vacuum could then be able to give answer to the most fundamental questions in Physics as, for example, the origin and the fate of Universe, the meaning of space and time, the nature of fundamental interactions and their possible unification, the synthesis between quantum and relativistic physics, the role of the consciousness observer in the physical Universe, the quest for a suitable Theory of Everything and many others. In this sense the true understanding of Quantum Vacuum features and dynamics represent a problem of common and fundamental interest in Physics, from both a theoretical and experimental point of view. The aim of this special issue is to explore and discuss the most novel and recent theoretical and experimental developments about the subject of Quantum Vacuum also examining previously unaddressed aspects; to review, comparing and contrasting different points of view; to propose and develop new approaches of scientific research, rapidly and effectively exchanging perspectives and to encourage new lines of research, possibly stimulating the interest of the new generation of researchers in this field.
