About This Special Issue
The Human Right to Water and Sanitation (HRWS) was recognized as a human right by the United Nations General Assembly on 28 July 2010. Safe drinking water and adequate sanitation are crucial for poverty reduction, crucial for sustainable development and crucial for achieving any and every one of the Millennium Development Goals.
Water scarcity is driving the need for desalination around the world, where some state officials are now advocating its use to meet increased demand. As a conclusion, it can be stated that desalination in water treatment and sustainability is a significant factor in the world today, because the future of water supply requires adequate sustainability to be able to effectively supply and support the world’s increasing population.
In this regard, it is essential to focus on issues such as desalination and water and wastewater treatment, using modern techniques that are most cost effective to get more high quality water.
Our focus is on both novel treatment strategies and the modifications and adaptions of conventional processes to optimize the treatment of a complex variety of pollutants, including organic matter, chemicals and micro-pollutants in different water resources. In this case, attention is paid to issues such as water recycling, gray water, sludge treatment processes, MBR technologies, and so on.
Aims and Scope:
  1. Water Treatment
  2. Wastewater Treatment
  3. Sludge Processing
  4. Desalination
  5. Membrane Bioreactor (MBR)
  6. Water Recycling
