Forensic Entomology embraces the evidences used within legal investigation systems throughout the world. Despite increasing acceptance of insect evidences, insufficiency remains in the understanding of several factors that maynot be illustrated sometimes. Improving the knowledge basics of forensically relevant insects and developing techniques that aid in species identification, effect of the colored fur of the experimental animals on the aggregation of maggots and the rate of decomposition, and modeling of maggot mass temperatures are major priorities to enhance accuracy and precision in post mortem interval estimations. This special issue is presented to widen the aspects of Forensic Entomology opening new horizons with new advances and focusing also on the interactions between microbes and carcass larvae that may be a main factor alternating the developmental rate of larvae in some cases.
