Abstract: This proposal tries to respond to some needs, fundamentally, to rethink new strategies for the transfer of knowledge in the classroom. Infographics are a good ICT resource, which, can be used as a study technique as it is a synthesis work that amasses various knowledge and adds images. This initiative can be valuable considering the process of transformation of teaching experienced as a result of the COVID-19 crisis. Whenever something has to be explained, both complex and simple, there is the resource of infographics that attracts due to its colors, shapes, elements, distribution, etc. It is very interesting to use in education. The use of infographics is increasingly widespread, in a knowledge-based society where there is more and more information and the most important thing is not to be able to memorize it, but to be able to discriminate which is the correct and important information. Our thinking is visual and we are able to better understand the ideas that arise through visual concepts and not only through abstract concepts. With this, classes could be improved, made more enjoyable and fun, where students are able to remember a certain illustration, graph or map of the infographic to explain complex concepts to define. Not all topics can be of interest with the same type of intensity, or students at some point can lose the thread, that's why infographics are a good resource to present a topic in an attractive way, getting the public to understand the keys that are presented, that does not go unnoticed and that improves student learning.

Abstract: The descriptive survey research design was used for the study, the population of the study were 50 made up of 17 Automobile technology teachers and 33 Automobile technology industrial supervisors. The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of work-based skills for enhancing school-to-work transition of Automobile Technology graduates of technical colleges in northern Nigeria. Two research questions were developed inline with the purpose of the study. 25 structured questionnaire items were developed and used for the study, while 3 experts were engaged to face validate the instrument. The instrument was pilot tested on 4 respondents who are not part of the population for the study and the reliability coefficient of the entire instrument was 0.89. Based on the findings of the study, the following recommendations were made: Teachers should embark on frequent supervision of students on SIWES and other cooperative education programmes to ensure that these students are given the appropriate work-based skills needed for effective school-to-work transition and Parents, community and society at large should assist in enhancing work-based skills for smooth school-to-work transition of Automobile technology students of technical colleges by allowing them to demonstrate what they have learnt in the classroom to real life situation.

The Pulling Mode of Hunting and the Root Cause of Corrugation

Abstract: This paper deals with a newly discovered train hunting mode--- the pulling mode. As the name suggests, the pulling mode is caused by pulling. Compared with the well-known tapered wheel tread mode, we can see that the pulling mode is another train hunting mode. Thus, there are two hunting modes discovered for train movements. The starting point and hunting characteristics of the pulling mode are discussed. Just like the tapered wheel tread mode, the pulling mode has also two degrees of freedom. The pulling mode is generally and easily observed from the movement of a trailer on the road. The mechanism caused the pulling mode in a trailer-car system is first analyzed. In normal operations, lateral displacement (disturbance) to a trailer-car is inevitable no matter how good quality is the system. The pulling power will act to straighten the system at the same time to overshoot to cause hunting. That is why this hunting mode is called the pulling mode. Thus, the existence of the pulling mode is proven. Stable hunting motions can be viewed as the harmonic vibration. Hunting motion curves for the car and trailer were established respectively. The two curves have a difference of π in phase angle, and a difference in amplitudes; however, the period and the wave length are the same. The characteristics of the pulling mode, such as the sway center and the sway momentum etc., are demonstrated mainly by using a trailer-car system because it makes the hunting mode easy to understand. The first degree of freedom of wheelset hunting is the culprit of rail corrugations. The wave length of corrugations was calculated. With understanding the principle of the pulling mode, the knowledge can be applied to solve the corrugation problem caused by the pulling mode. Proper weight distributions within a vehicle are analyzed to try to reduce severer train hunting. Power distribution can be a factor to cause the polling mode hunting. Some other measures can also be taken to reduce the pulling mode hunting. A hunting eliminator can be developed to eliminate hunting totally.

Abstract: Despite the importance of education, there persists a constant and consistent failure of current and former offenders. Statistically, compared to the national average, a disproportionate number underachieve. Without hope for a better future, the overwhelming majority face diminished life opportunities; marginalised and disadvantaged individuals are drawn together through complex and multifaceted personal, social and political circumstances. Over the previous three decades, the term subculture has become a more fluid and diverse concept. Used in a much broader context, subculture research and inquiry examine the lifestyle choices, customs, values, and consumption patterns of individuals, groups, and countercultures who deviate from traditional social patterns, modes of living, and behaviours. From a postmodernist viewpoint, they are dynamic and interpersonal hubs that provide ontological gratification, satisfaction, and emotional attachment. Rather than viewing the types of non-conventional learning that offenders experience in subcultures in derogatory and harmful terms, this article will highlight and explore how non-normative principles and paradigms associated with criminal subcultures can be used to structure teaching pedagogy and practice in a teaching and learning context. The transformative potential of education to support and mentor offenders toward desistance, rehabilitation, and broader social inclusion will be discussed and analysed. By creating a positive and negotiated learning space, I will tell the stories of how the research participants were supported into meaningful and productive pathways.
