Abstract

In order to investigate the development of special education in Tibet Autonomous Region, based on the relevant data of China Statistical Yearbook, this paper explores the development of special education schools, students and teachers in the autonomous regions during the ten years from 2006 to 2015, and found: 1. The number of special students in school and the number of full-time teachers are less than those in other parts of China, but with an average annual growth rate being the highest in China, the special education has been developing rapidly in the past decade. 2. In recent years, the number of special students in school has increased more than the number of full-time teachers, while the special education teachers have shown a trend of shortage. Therefore, we should increase the quality of special education teachers and explore new forms of teaching such as door-to-door education while adhering and promoting the learning-in-regular-class policy.
