Abstract

Objective: To observe the clinical effect of auricular acupoints on improving skin pruritus in hemodialysis patients. Methods: Sixty patients with maintenance hemodialysis accompanied by pruritus were randomly divided into treatment group and control group and treated with auricular acupoints for Twenty-four weeks. The degree of pruritus was assessed by skin pruritus scale, and the correlation between skin pruritus score and pre-dialysis blood phosphorus, PTH and beta-2 microglobulin was discussed. Before treatment, Twelve weeks after treatment and Twenty-four weeks after treatment, the changes of skin pruritus scale score, prepermeable creatinine, prepermeable urea nitrogen, blood phosphorus, PTH and beta 2 microglobulin were collected. Results: After two courses of treatment, the skin itch score of the treatment group was significantly lower than that of the control group (P < 0.01), and the curative effect increased with the course of treatment (P < 0.01). The skin itch score was positively correlated with the levels of blood phosphorus, PTH and beta 2 microglobulin before dialysis (P < 0.01). Conclusions: Auricular acupoint therapy can improve skin pruritus symptoms in maintenance hemodialysis patients, and the curative effect increases with the course of treatment. Skin pruritus score is positively correlated with the levels of blood phosphorus, PTH and beta 2 microglobulin before dialysis. skin pruritus in dialysis patients is also closely related to the levels of blood phosphorus, PTH and beta 2 microglobulin. The method of auricular acupoint operation is simple. This study provides a safe, simple and effective treatment method for alleviating patients' pain and improving patients' quality of life. It is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
