In recent years, issues about women have received widespread attention from the society. Films and TV dramas about women have been launched continuously. The film "Hi, Mom" and "Jim Ji-young: Born 1982" have caused phenomenal discussion as soon as they were released. The paper focuses on mother images of the film "Hi, Mom" and "Jim Ji-young: Born 1982", and combines the different social environments and film markets of China and South Korea to compare the mother images in films. The paper concludes that the othering of the mother image in the film " Kim Ji-young: Born 1982" is a conscious construction, while that of "Hi, Mom" is in a unconscious state.
