The causative relationships are generally agreed to be one of the most widespread linguistic phenomena and a universal logical concept. Therefore there is a variety of linguistic data biased studies of causativity in different typological groups of language. The typological studies of causatives highlight the diversity and universality in causal cognition. The special issue focuses on the influence of culture on the code of causation that affects on grammar, semantics and pragmatics. The aim of the special issue is to synthesize research done by others on causatives from different approaches and to overview the rendering individual meanings of causation in cross-cultural comparisons.
