Abstract

Integrating Sichuan local history resources into the teaching of "Outline of Modern and Contemporary Chinese History" helps enhance the vividness and affinity of the course, thereby improving its educational effectiveness. This article explores effective approaches to incorporating these resources into the "Outline" course by organizing and selecting Sichuan's local historical materials, including optimizing the teaching content system, innovating teaching methods, and strengthening the support of teaching resources. The study suggests that by leveraging the educational value of significant modern and contemporary historical events, figures, and cultural heritage in Sichuan, and by combining grand historical narratives with local practices, students can deepen their understanding of the developmental patterns of modern and contemporary Chinese history, while fostering a stronger sense of national and local identity. This exploration holds positive significance for enriching the teaching resources of the "Outline" course and innovating its teaching models.
