The problem of excessive academic burden of middle school students has a long history, and hasalways been the focus of attention of the government and the society; this article makes a researchon the current situation of education in China and abroad, and integrates its roots into eight aspects: the direct drive of the performance effect, the long-term infusion of traditional concepts, the bias ofthe employment mechanism, the increasingly severe form of employment, the still real exam-orientededucation, the subjective tendency of curriculum setting, the relative shortage of educational resources, and the improvement of teaching quality.
