Abstract: Studies on children’s hospital play in both indoor and outdoor settings have indicated relative degrees of psychological support for children's health restoration process. This Paediatric-centered action research with children in ambulatory and non-ambulatory care employs an affordance-based approach with loose play items, termed features-user affordance, to enhance hospitalized children’s restoration. The objective of this study is to ascertain the value of Paediatric play using loose items in a Nigerian hospital context. The benefits are measured in terms of children's behaviours such as movement and interaction with their peers and caregivers, as a result of the treatment they have received in the ward as a play setting. Twelve children, aged 3-7 years, from the Paediatric ward of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital in Bauchi, were selected to receive treatment in a ward cubicle designed with loose play items. Their behavioural responses were elicited by the researcher using video recording of their actions and behaviours. This was followed by structured interviews with caregivers comprising six physicians and nine nurses. The data was analysed using descriptive content analysis. It was found that play using loose items increased movement, engaged and sustained social interaction and verbal conversations. Responses from caregivers indicated changes in children’s behaviour in terms of child management and cooperation. The study suggests that loose play items as intervention measures provide a complementary approach for supporting hospitalized children’s functioning in Paediatric ward settings.

Abstract: The aim of this article is to determine the impact o capacity building on career development at Hope University staff in Mogadishu-Somalia. Methods: the study area was the staff of Hope University, Mogadishu-Campus. The study was descriptive research with specifically cross-sectional survey using designed questionnaires. The target population was 60 staff, but the researcher made sample size of 48 staff. The data analyzed method was descriptive research with using software SPSS version applied in this study. Result: The table 3 shows that the 48 respondents, capacity building makes positive impact, 20 respondents agreed, while 25 respondents strongly agreed, 1 respondent disagreed and only 2 respondents strongly disagreed. Researcher can say that the 20 agreed 41.7%, while 25 strongly agreed were 52.1%, 1 disagreed 2.1%, and 2 4.2% strongly disagreed. The above table shows that on the job learning and workshop training can lead great impact on employee performance. 19 respondents agreed, while 26 strongly agreed, 2 respondents disagreed and only 1 respondent strongly disagreed. So, 19 agreed were 39.6% while 26 strongly agreed were 54.2%, 2 respondents were disagreed 4.2% and only 1 respondent was 2.1%. The above table shows that respondents of capacity building promote lecturer’s performance and efficiency to deliver effective learning. 21 respondents agreed, while 23 respondents strongly agreed; only 1 respondent disagreed, 1 respondent strongly disagreed and 2 respondents were neutral. So that, 21 respondents agreed were 43.8%, while 23 respondents strongly disagreed were 47.9%, 1 respondent disagreed was 2.1%, 1 respondent strongly disagreed was 2.1% and 2 respondents neutral were 4.2%. The above table also shows that the capacity building enhances university’s goals and performance, 22 respondents agreed, while 19 respondents strongly agreed, only 2 respondents disagreed, also 2 respondents strongly disagreed and 3 respondents were neutral. Mean that, 22 respondents agreed were 45.8%, while 19 respondents strongly agreed were 39.6%, 2 respondents disagreed were 4.2, 2 respondents disagreed were 4.2% and 3 respondents neutral were 6.3%. Recommendations: The researcher recommends that the university keeps usage adjustment to the trainings or seminars to increase career development. The researcher recommends that the university also keeps employee motivation to increase performance level and quality level. Education and training programs to build up employee’s capability, skills and enhance effective performance as well as continuous career development.

Abstract: Livestock are an important component of nearly all farming systems in Ethiopia. Despite the importance of livestock in the country, productivity is low due to shortage of feed in terms of both quantity and quality, especially during the dry season. A study was conducted to evaluate the effects of plant spacing and N fertilizer application on agronomic performance and dry matter yield of Brachiaria hybrid cv. Mulato II grass for the first 150 days after planting under irrigation supplementation in Chagni Ranch, Awi Zone, Ethiopia. A factorial experiment with 3 urea fertilizer levels (0, 50 and 100 kg/ha) and 4 spacings between plants and rows (20 x 20, 30 x 40, 40 x 60 and 50 x 80 cm) with 3 replications was used. Data collected on agronomic characteristics were plant height, number of tillers per plant, number of leaves per plant, leaf: stem ratio basal circumference and dry matter yield (DMY). The highest DMY 9.18 t/ha and 8.93 t/ha were recorded for narrower plant spacing (20 x 20 cm) with higher urea fertilizer level (100 kg/ha) (S1F3) and narrower plant spacing (20 x 20 cm) with medium urea fertilizer level (50 kg/ha) (S1F2), respectively. The current study concluded that, dry matter yield of Mulato II grass can be improved by urea fertilizer application specifically the application of 50 kg/ha urea fertilizer with better economic feasiblity. On the other hand, planting at narrower spacings 20x20 cm were found to have high DMY values and it reduce land shortage problem than other spacings. Similar studies need to be conducted over much longer periods to determine to what extent these findings relate to performance over the life of a permanent pasture.

Abstract: Since Zanzibar it has 99% of Muslims populations; Islamic Insurance (Takaful) seems to be the best alternative to increase financial protection. The main objective of this study was to examine challenges facing insurance operators in introducing Islamic insurance (takaful) in Zanzibar. Quantitative approach was adopted in this study and data was analyzed through descriptive statistical techniques such as frequencies, mean and standard deviation. Simple Random and purposive sampling were used to select 90 respondents. The data were collected through open ended questionnaires. The study found that most of the respondents almost (60%) replied negative perception of Islamic religion as the great challenge that affects the establishment of Takaful insurance in Zanzibar. In addition to that, Lack of capacity from Zanzibar Insurance Company affect the establishment of Takaful insurance in Zanzibar, since majority of the respondents almost more than 60% replied by large extent. The study concludes that lack of innovative and flexible products to cater for Muslim needs affect the establishment of Islamic insurance. Apart from that, the study indicated that, Shortage of skilled man-power to drive Takaful insurance has the great impact to the establishment of Takaful insurance. Therefore, the study recommends that, the concept of Takaful should be disseminated among the masses of Zanzibar; this will further result in enlarging the customer base of Takaful companies in Zanzibar.
